Consultations
Dr. Holdright welcomes both UK and international patients. UK residents are requested to obtain a letter of referral from their GP or specialist prior to their appointment.
The initial consultation lasts 30 minutes and includes the discussion of your symptoms, clinical examination, and recommendation of further investigation or a course of treatment. Any tests required to form a diagnosis or monitor your condition will be charged in addition to the consultation fee. For a full breakdown of consultation and investigation charges, please contact the practice.
If you have private medical insurance, you should contact your insurance company prior to your appointment in order to obtain a pre-authorisation code. Please note that, although we will invoice the insurance company directly on your behalf, any payment made by an insurer is considered to be a reimbursement to you towards the cost of your treatment. The ultimate responsibility for payment lies with you and you will therefore be responsible for any shortfall should your insurance company fail to cover the full amount. Please note that prior to all subsequent investigations and consultations you will need to contact your insurance company for confirmation of your entitlement to benefit. If you do not have private medical insurance you will be responsible for all costs incurred as a self-funding patient.
Please note that should you need to cancel your appointment, 24 hours' notice must be given or you will incur the full consultation fee.
Repeat Prescriptions
We are happy to issue repeat prescriptions for our patients' usual cardiac medication. However, dangerous errors can occur when requests are made by telephone and fax, so all requests must be made in writing and accompanied by a stamped addressed envelope if you would like the prescription posted out to you.
